Commercial Plywood for versatile choices

Commercial plywood is a kind of plywood that is frequently used in many different applications where it is desired to have a balance between strength, cost, and appearance. The plywood is sometimes referred to as MR (Moisture Resistant) plywood due to its ability to tolerate varying levels of wetness, humidity, and moisture. Commercial plywood is created by using an adhesive to join multiple layers of wood veneer, producing a robust and long-lasting end product.

Internal applications make up the majority of its uses, especially in offices and commercial buildings. It is also preferred in dry areas like living rooms, study rooms, and offices. It is widely used to construct partitions, wall paneling, and furniture, among other things.

Benefits of Commercial Plywood

  • Versatile: There are a wide range of sizes, types, and thicknesses available for commercial plywood, making it appropriate for a number of uses.
  • Strong: The cross-grain pattern of commercial plywood adds to its durability, stability, and resistance to splitting.
  • Cost-effective: Prefabricated plywood is less expensive than solid wood and easier to transport.
  • Environmental: Compared to solid wood, commercial plywood uses less wood, which has a lessening effect on forests.

🔍 Applications of Plywood

Some of the common applications of commercial plywood are:

  • Furniture making: Commercial plywood can be used to create various furniture items, such as bookshelves, tables, chairs, sofas, cabinets, etc. It is durable, stable, and flexible, and can be molded into different shapes and designs.
  • Construction: Commercial plywood can also be used in construction projects, such as interior walls, ceilings, partitions, paneling, and door panels. It is strong, cost-effective, and can withstand moderate moisture.
  • Packaging: Commercial plywood can also be used in packaging materials, such as boxes, crates, pallets, etc. It is strong and durable, and can protect the goods from damage.
  • Artwork: Commercial plywood can also be used for artistic purposes, such as creating woodwork, sculptures, paintings, etc. It is flexible and resilient, and can be cut into various shapes and sizes.

💡 The process of manufacturing commercial plywood

  1. Initially, the chosen logs are cut, debarked and peeled in order to ensure consistency and smoothness.
  2. Second, these thin sheets are air-dried or dried in order to meet moisture standards and employees categorized them into A, B and C groups
  3. Next, the glued boards are stacked with non-glued ones in the desired thickness.
  4. Following that, these boards are first cold pressed to ensure that glue and resin penetrates for a solid bond
  5. These boards are then put in hot pressing machines
  6. Subsequently, each shortage and defect on boards’ surfaces is fixed manually.
  7. The boards are then covered another kind of glue that helps to stick veneers outside
  8. The boards are second cold and hot pressed afterwards.
  9. The next step is trimming and sanding with the purposes being cut according to given dimensions and removing all dents and faults introduced during handling respectively.
  10. Finally, the commercial plywood is inspected whether it conforms to the standards of moisture, thickness, surfaces, … before being packaged to transport to customers.
